FAQs

Does the balm have a scent?

Yes! Since our balm is made from 100% grass-fed beef tallow with no added fragrances or artificial ingredients, it has a light, natural scent that fades quickly after application. This is just a sign of its purity-no fillers, no nonsense, just real nourishment for your skin!

Does the balm feel greasy?

If the balm feels greasy, it likely means you’ve applied too much! Try using a smaller amount or allow more time for absorption. For a fuss-free experience, you can opt to apply it at night; by morning, your skin will have fully absorbed the nutrients, leaving it supple, radiant, and deeply hydrated.

What is tallow?

For centuries, beef tallow has been a cherished beauty ingredient. Tallow is a deeply nourishing, all natural fat derived from 100% grass-fed beef. Its composition of triglycerides, essential fatty acids, and saturated fats closely mimics the natural oils in human skin, making it highly absorbable and deeply hydrating. Rich in oleic, stearic, and palmitic acids, tallow strengthens the skin barrier, locks in moisture, and supports collagen production. It’s also packed with vitamins A, D, E and K, which promote cell regeneration, protect against free radicals, and aid in healing.

Where do you source your tallow?

We source our tallow from small, family-owned farms in the U.S. where cattle are 100% grass-fed and pasture-raised. No factory farms, no hormones, no BS-just pure, high-quality tallow.

Does the balm melt in warm temperatures?

Because it is made with natural fats, the balm may soften in hot weather. If this happens, just pop it in the fridge for a bit, it’ll firm right back up without losing any benefits!

What's the best way to apply the face balm?

The best way to apply the balm is with clean, dry hands. Scoop out a pea-sized amount and gently massage it into your face, focusing on areas that need extra hydration. Any excess can be smoothed onto your neck, chest, lips or hands for added nourishment. For an extra boost, apply to damp skin or spritz a little water/toner beforehand to help it glide on effortlessly. Carefully and thoroughly work the balm into the entire eye area with light pressure.

What are the small hard beads in my tallow?

The small, hard beads in your tallow balm are a natural result of the handcrafted blending process and they are just as nourishing and completely safe to use! Since our balm contains both solid saturated fats and liquid unsaturated fats, each with different melting points, exposure to temperature changes can cause some fats to solidify at different rates. This natural occurrence, known as “blooming,” may create tiny grain-like beads but rest assured, it has no effect on the quality or effectiveness of the balm.

What skin types can use this?

Our tallow balms are perfect for all skin types, especially dry, sensitive, or acne-prone skin. It deeply moisturizes, helps diminish wrinkles, and supports skin healing, without clogging pores.

Many people experience transformative results when using tallow balm on their face. However, if you’re new to all-natural skincare, we recommend starting with a small amount to see how your skin responds. When transitioning from conventional products, some may experience a brief skin purge, which is completely natural. Give it about a month to see the full benefits and let your skin adjust!

Is it safe for eczema or psoriasis?

Yes! Tallow is rich in anti-inflammatory and healing properties, making it a great choice for soothing irritated, dry, or inflamed skin. Many customers with eczema or psoriasis have seen amazing results!
